Defining Yourself in the Information Age and how the Music Industry taught us to find Opportunity in Social Media

Since the dawn of the internet and social media(Facebook), social networking and the IT that drives it has made personal branding possible. The creation of this technology, has allowed for more opportunities to be achieved. From corporate branding (i.e. Wal-mart) down to the personal brand of your own indivdiual style(i.e. your facebook profile), branding has become a critical component to extending opportunities within your reach. And to do this, we have to see the internet as a tool that we can use to constantly open those doors of opportunity on multiple levels and dimensions and at a phenomenal rate if used properly.
Personal branding has been a practice of many celebrities like Lady Gaga or Rhianna, yet each and every one of us creates a brand for ourselves. But we call it "swagg"or "Style". Even before the internet, we woke up every morning imagining the best way to express our being and defining our self-worth. Personal Branding by definition, is the process by which we market ourselves ready and available.
for opportunities that benefits our well-being. As a brand, we can leverage the same strategies that make these celebrities or corporate brands hot online.
When taking a closer look at celebrity branding for example, we see a combination of online factors that contribute to album and ticket sales at movies and concerts. Medias such as You Tube, Wikipedia, Internet Radios, Blogs, you get the idea... Has been a major contributor to the image and rapport building for many celebrities. The theory, whether a celebrity or an individual looking to improve his career, is developing a strong  online presence. The more you can express yourself with color, showing different aspects of your life through pictures, videos, and interesting posts, etc., the more you draw favorable people to network with.
To that end, it's clear that your brand should be enriched with media and extend your profile to as many forms of social and network media as possible. In the long run, this will drive up your online presence, giving them an idea of your personality, preference, and in some cases(for employers), a sense of ethics.(The Importance of Ethics and Its Teachings by the Ancients) All them to view your videos or read about your favorite topics that best reflects you, gives your most favorable audience an idea of what type of team player you are.
These insights into your character can draw the right opportunities in the most unmeasurable way. It's all in how much effort you put into it. Not only will branding yourself will make yourself more attractive online, but it will also be very useful once you decide to make that step into business, that major career step in your life that can make a difference in your sense of fulfillment and happiness, or drawing the right crowd for events or parties. We are definitely social creatures, and how we express ourselves make a world of difference in opportunities that we desire to gain.
The internet is a great tool. The utility of it, and the things that we can accomplish are just beginning. And just like any technology we have to use it correctly and not to any destructive ends like we have in the past, (i.e.Nuclear and Atomic energy). With this tool we can build by bringing our talents and resources together in one concentrated focus and effort, and unstand each other in ways that will build unbreakable bonds. Its a matter of how we tap into this technology for yourself.

Unknown Frontier

Let's face it, the economy is uncertain. The Associated Press has dubbed this era as "The Great Recession". The Biggest economic downslide since the Great Depression in the 30's, and has created a deep hole in the Gross Domestic Product. Which means: Less people has been spending money in order to save. Something that we call frugality. This effects the production of our industries. Making our companies produce less, in turn keep unemployment high, which feeds back into less spending.
Forget Great Recession, our economy has sent us into the "Great Unknown". With a big question mark over our country. We are constantly wondering, what is going to happen? Who is making the

decisions? Are those decisions going to get us back on the right track? is there a conspiracy involved? One of the biggest fears being transmitted in our society is: Will the economy collapses and go into marshal law? The so-called survivalist think so. And they speak against the capitalist "PIG" system, they themselves exploits the fears of the masses by selling indepedent electrical power supply units and survival kits that will prepare you for the upcoming Apocalypse.... A shame.
Who really knows what the future holds. The only concerns that ever sound, are the concerns of the here and now.
With employment rates still staggering and government assistance wavering, personal gain in wealth and finance has to be just that.....personal and independent. Inner strength is the only answer. There is no limit to your financial success. It's all in how you make it. We owe it to ourselves to take control of our destiny and to become masters of it.
Independent financial trends can reap the most prosperous lifestyles. Being your own boss, setting your own hours, and if you still want to  hold down a 9 to 5, it can be a second stream of income that can only strengthen your financial securities and insure that you have a definite income without ever leaning on your savings.
