eCommerce: The Given Advantage

The Internet has created new ways for us to get the things we want out of life, and has it has become the best way to the American Dream. Today, eCommerce has grown into a huge industry with online retail generating $175 billion in revenues in 2007. It is the quickest and most convenient way to buy goods and services. And it has increased our purchasing power, giving us more for our money.
From travel services to electronics, from books and media distribution to sports and fitness. More than 70% of the country are using the internet on a daily basis. And the world is catching on more and more. eCommerce growth is increasing with plenty of opportunities to get in on the increase of wealth.
In the last decade, many start-up eCommerce companies have rapidly stolen market share from traditional retailers and services providers, such as Walmart, Target, and Best Buy. Forcing some of these major players to begin their own commerce websites or to change the way they do business. As traditional retail companies continue to lose market share to eCommerce players, they will likely see a continued decline in their revenues, operating margins, and profits.
Its important to know that eCommerce has a competitive advantage to traditional retailers. They have lower operating expenses and better inventory management due to operating via internet. For example, Amazon.com has revenue per employee of nearly $850K while its retail competitor, Best Buy generates revenue per employee of only $270K, This is a very huge difference and clearly eCommerce vendors will have the advantage and the most to gain if they successfully disrupt retail customer acquisition and under price retail establishments.

The Importance of Ethics and Its Teachings by the Ancients

One of the first things that I thought was important to start my new blog, was to write an article on Ethics, and why its important to make it a part of our lives. But a lot of people asks, "What is ethics exactly?" We hear about it. We learnt it in school, though we may not have completely caught on. But what exactly is it?
One of the standards of definitions, is the study of standards of behavior which promotes human welfare and the good.-Kirk O. Hanson, executive director of the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University. Though this definition seems simplified by university professors, its still a complex explanation. To put it more simply, it's the group of habits that we practice and develop for ourselves to achieve our goals, meet needs, or satisfy our demands.
Ethics is what we groom ourselves to become. We all have goals in life. At the same time, life has its problems. How do we prevail and overcome? How do we find the victory we know is meant for us? They are within us. Socrates(469 BC - 399 BC), Once said that self-knowledge was considered necessary for success and inherently an essential good. Ethics is the importance of gaining self-awareness and good habits to act, react, and interact with every situation to bring about the best fortunes and benifits for us. In other words, how we structure our networks around us, and the habits we practice can determine our good fortune and well-being for ourselves and others.
Even in the field of eCommerce, sitting in front of a computer is no exception. The role of ethics is very important, because the relationship with our companies and customer is very important. we must remember any business is for a mutual advantage.
